Radiant - Oil on standard canvas, 106x80cm (framed size) wooden float frame. Radiant is a companion artwork displayed alongside Feast. Together these two artworks make a single statement and yet are coherent in themselves. They were inspired by the landscape surrounding the property in Copmanthorpe, York, which was resplendent with the shimmer of summer, and the rich colour of golden wheat fields edged with the deep green of age-old trees.

Feast - Oil on standard canvas, 106x80cm (framed size) wooden float frame, is a commissioned work that is intended to be displayed alongside its companion artwork Radiant. Feast acknowledges the love of cooking and celebration at the heart of this home.

1970s Revisited - Oil on standard canvas, 80x80cm (framed size) wooden float frame. This painting was inspired by the colours and energy of the 1970s. It is crazy and wild, and in this respect reflects the exciting energy, colours and vibrancy of that period in time.

Homage to Beutlich - Oil on deep canvas, 80x80cm, float-framed (wood). The painting acknowledges the role of Tadek Beutlich in the development of my visual language throughout the 1970s. Tadek was a multi-talented artist who trained in ceramics and practiced in making extraordinary textiles and striking relief prints. SOLD

Stone, Light and Shadows - Oil on deep canvas, 80x80cm, float-framed (wood) was inspired by a visit to The Devil’s Arrows, a series of standing stones at Boroughbridge. These proudly erect, weather worn stones defy the onslaught of suburbia claiming their right to cast shadows.

Optimism - Oil on standard canvas 80x105cm, float framed. This painting reflects both optimism in its use of colour, shape and mark-making the glow of possibilities, and the hope that we feel when embarking on a new venture. It is all encapsulating and simple, exhilarating and warming.

Fizz - Oil on board 63x88cm, float framed (wood). This painting represents an explosion of energy.

Pink Affection - Oil on standard canvas 80x105cm, float framed - this painting is a playful rendition of a small posy of flowers (used as a central table decoration) given to the artist by a friend at the end of a literary luncheon. It is one of two paintings created from this ‘still life’. Here the floral display is given monumental proportions to reflect the act of generosity and kindness.

Mothers - Oil and gold leaf on deep canvas, 100x100cm, unframed. Mothers is an expressive work celebrating the role of the mother and the collective ‘mother’ in its broadest sense. SOLD

Rock - Oil on board, 29x29cm, float-framed. Rock is a symbolic and evocative rendition of the notion of solidity and safety. It has echoes of Clifford’s Tower, York, however, Rock is of no specific place for the intention in this painting is to suggest a ‘rock’ wherever that may be - home, a partner, a friendship or pet. SOLD

Crashing Waves - Oil on canvas, 70x70cm, unframed. A walk along Bempton Cliffs and an attempt to capture the elemental forces of wind and water against rock.

City Trees at Night - Oil on canvas, 64x64cm, float framed (wood).

Gesture - Acrylic on canvas, 70x70cm, unframed. This painting is softly toned with a relaxing image of a leaf falling or hand arcing in gesture.

Hera - Oil on canvas, 64x64cm, float framed (wood). 82x82cm, float framed. Hera is the goddess of marriage, women and family, and the protector of women during childbirth. Here Hera floats in total relaxation surrounded by colour - in particular turquoise. The gemstone of the same name is said to protect the wearer from unnatural death or impending doom. SOLD

Flood and Fire - Oil on deep canvas, 100x100cm, unframed. This painting was inspired by a walk near Fulford Ings during one of the many floods in that area of York. The sun was setting and the notion of flood mixed with fire began to merge.

Stellar - Oil on deep canvas, 34x29cm, float-framed (wood)

Location - Oil on deep canvas, 34x29cm, float-framed. This painting explores the importance of others knowing (within a specified grid) our location in terms of time and space.

Sparkle at Water's Edge - Oil and gold leaf on deep canvas, 35x35cm, float-framed (wood), price on request. A smaller painting capturing the sparkle at the meeting of land and water.

Blencarn, Eden - Oil on deep canvas, 64x64cm, float framed. Blencarn is a village located in the Eden District of Cumbria, England. The painting was inspired by a journey through the area when the mist began to roll upon the rugged hillside. It is a visual memory of a landscape that can be quickly engulfed by changing weather patterns and the beauty and force of such change. Donated to the Eden Dora Trust and SOLD at the 2022 Gala dinner

Friendship - Oil on canvas, 70x70cm, unframed. The artwork was imagined in response to receiving a gift of flowers from a fellow artist as a ‘thank you’ for helping her in the lead time to an event. This thoughtful gift prompted me to consider what a visual celebration of the invisible notion of friendship might look and feel like, in terms of colour, shape, gesture, and mark-making.

Night Floral - Oil on canvas, 45x45cm, float framed - was inspired by a series of late evening walks across Millennium Bridge and along the River Ouse. A dark and sensuous artwork that reflects the colours of the inky dark river and night sky coupled with the electronic glow of the bridge’s lights across the surrounding meadow.

Coast - Oil on deep canvas, 64x64cm, float-framed (wood). The coast or ‘edge’ can be a lonely place. SOLD

Spring - Oil on deep canvas 20x15cm, unframed. This simple and vibrant artwork was inspired by a late spring walk. The air was fresh and there was the second promise of all that summer would deliver.

Valley - Oil on deep canvas 20x15cm, unframed - is an accompanying artwork to Spring and was painted during the same period. As in Spring, Valley was inspired by a walk near Bishop Wilton, York. The air was fresh and there was the promise of all that summer would deliver in terms of colour and energy.

Chalk - Oil on deep canvas, 100x100cm, unframed. Chalk was created following a Bempton Cliffs walk (East Yorkshire) where the water crashes against the chalk cliffs and the puffins and gannets cling to the shelves of rock.

Upturn - Oil on deep canvas, 64x64cm, float-framed (wood). This painting though executed in a muted colour palette is positive in its move towards ‘up’ and away from the deluge. SOLD

Luscious Integument - Oil on canvas, 60x60cm, unframed. It forms a physical divide between the external and the internal environments. SOLD
